Not sure what point you're trying to make here. Some people want drama and arguments which do them and others no good. You are staying out of it. You're achieving your aims, making contributions that you think matter, and living a

The 9360 might have been more decent but Dell fucked up the keyboard on the newest 9370. You can't type with a normal WPM or characters start getting jumbled up. Just get Carbon X1 or something similar (T480) in that lineup.

Quoting what I read somewhere else, people in both camps just greatly exaggerate the difference between Linux and MacOS. I've been using both for a couple of years and this year I made the full switch to Arch Linux + i3 on a Carbon X1.

That is a way of looking at it. Another perspective is that any attempt to deify a real human being is bound to be nonsensical, and we should always be wary of the complex human nature behind a carefully constructed "public figure"

Don't think that unwinding and freeing oneself of human mortality necessarily have anything to do with each other. I don't have any problem with human morality whatsoever. I doubt many atheists do. But one still needs to have bala

Foxconn and similar manufacturers are always the favorite topic for western media. But the reality is complicated. The bottom line is that in most cases there's no slave labor taking place and nobody forces those workers to stay there.

Depends on how you define "great". Haskell intentionally keeps itself off the mainstream. That has always been a deliberate choice. There are now already plenty of more practical functional languages, e.g. OCaml, F#, Julia, Elixir

My two cents is that I currently find Elixir and Julia to combine productivity and all the goodness from functional programming really well. Not sure what sort of backlash they'll get if they go more mainstream in the future (which I b
