Tesla is going to start shipping their Semi next year. I think you’re gonna lose that bet as I’m pretty sure a Semi is a tad bigger than a family vehicle. Granted, they’re developing a new “mega charger” for it, but still. The higher torque

Elon mentioned it at their “battery day” event and everyone sort of laughed about it.

Improving the cost of lithium extraction, if this can be scaled up, is actually a really big deal for electric vehicles. The single largest cost of a modern EV is the battery. Tesla thinks this process reduces the cost of lithium extraction

Electrek is a glorified Tesla fanboi (Fredrick Lambert) blog which often skews reality. I'd never put "better source" and Electrek in the same sentence. I'm saying this as a Tesla owner mind you!

Ok. Why has no one done it? The economics would surely be there if someone could. Seemingly, SpaceX is the current best in the world and they couldn’t do it.

They’re planning on dumping the first few super heavy boosters in the ocean. This is in the authorizations from the FAA.

If you’re referring to the Falcon Heavy side booster landings, I got to see the first one live at Kennedy Space Center. It was one of the only things in my entire life I’d describe as pure magic. It was amazing and so beautiful to see.

Oh very good point. The GP’s $1 million number per falcon 9 launch was ludicrous.

The Falcon 9 can not be launched for less than $1M. Falcon 9 does not reuse the second stage. Elon has said that the second stage is approximately 20% of the cost of a Falcon 9 launch. A Falcon 9 needs to have some work done between each la

And if/when SpaceX finishes Starship plus Superheavy, SpaceX will be launching up to 400 satellites per launch. Also, they've submitted authorization for up to 42,000 total starlink satellites: https://spacenews.com

No. This wouldn't happen as space is much bigger and there are far more airplanes today in the sky than satellites with a higher more distant apart orbit. These low earth orbit constellations will naturally experience orbital decay and

Democracy as an idea and form of government was almost extinguished from history by the Persians. When Emperor Xerxes II invaded Greece to avenge the Greeks beating his father Darius it looked really bad. After the Persians put a pretty bad

I basically followed your advice and ran far away. That's why I'm getting Central HVAC, which I'm sad about as I like the idea of Geothermal, but it is what it is.

By "hit rock" I mean the 3 hvac firms I spoke with didn't want to dig through rock, but couldn't nail down a cost if they hit it, which is basically a certainty. Bosch as a general rule has pretty solid engineering. I&#x

Not sure if you were aware, but the cost of building materials such as wood and also hvac has went up massively. The same central heating and air units a year ago would have cost maybe 20k with a full install. We got three quotes for three

Yes, Google tries to abstract SEV from you, but it is SEV-SNP that we really need for this. Our account manager confirmed they’re not offering SEV-SNP yet. But you know this for metropolis, right? :)
