The article's main point seems to be that Everpix could have done well by paying employees well under (half?) market rates and succeeded. Maybe by handing over a lot of equity to employees (probably most of it), it may have even worked

The words you're looking for are "I'm making money with a product that has fixed costs and variable income", not passive income. It's a pretty well known model used by a number of companies such as Microsoft. You&#x

They can certainly cash it out using a number of bitcoin to currency services. So the hacker has done the equivalent of stealing $1mil out of a bank, except a bank is very easy to trace while stealing BTC means the thief is home free. h

Interesting use of optimizing sql query plans down to JVM byte code. I don't think anybody has done that before - but it sounds like it would work really well. Would be really interesting to hear more on that as it might be applicable

Browsing through these jobs is enough to kill your faith in humanity. I don't think I saw any I'd want to work for regardless of salary. Cases in point: We're looking for a younger developer ... There will be no compensation

Just wanted to add another view on this: wasting a few days creating a perfect design for something that you never even create is not necessarily wasted time. During that time you're thinking through all the different interactions your

Major upvotes to you - ignore these other comments, you're entirely correct. A lot of these mundane jobs do need to be done, but a lot of people enjoy stable mundane jobs. Leave these kinds of jobs to them, they will actually thank you

Possibly a kickstarter to code CMYK into gimp would be a good idea? If the gimp team doesn't let you do it, it should be easy enough to fork it with a bit of financial backing from a kickstarter.
