you are correct, but Amazon cannot do that. The changes to Android are small but large enough that Amazon can't call Fire OS Android.

the short answer to your first question is yes. You can't get Google Play services (the store) without being Android, and there are some differences between FireOS and Android that support features of Kindle Fire but preclude the Kindl

When I was homeless, I lived in my car. I lived like a king compared to those actually sleeping rough. I frequently slept near/at the Burnside Project (PDX), and saw many far worse off. I had a water tight heated home that I moved when

I've spent the last two days at the Hyperledger Project [0] face to face [1], there was a lot of fintech representation. Disclosure: I'm employed by LF, working as staff at this event. [0] https://www.hyperledger.org&#x

I used to take my CRKT M16-14 knife on the nerd bird SJC<->SEA round trip twice a week. Nobody cared. This was mid-90s until just before 9/11. I didn't try to hide it - just tossed it in the bin with my keys etc. https:

American Idol caused widespread rearchitecting of SMSGW/SMSC. Fun times; voting was a very distributed DoS.

I apologize, I missed your comment earlier. In my experience (before the tolls were in place on 520 to mess with things), the morning commute was heavy from Seattle->Microsoft exit. There was a lot less traffic going from Kirkland->Se

I worked at a now deceased photo-sharing startup, and the stats were so bad. Most photos never left the device, meaning people had all of these important life moments in only one place. Lose or break your iPhone? All of baby's first wh

I've been using Lyft quite a bit this year, and I've asked every driver if they drive for both (yes) and which they prefer (Lyft, because it pays better). Anecdata, I know.

If you're doing the counter commute, Kirkland->Seattle Business District in the morning, 520 is a great option. Most people have abandoned it due to the toll, but the only area where things get sticky is the merge from 405->520 w

You can certify, and use the Bluetooth mark, based on assertion and documentation. Bluetooth SIG is also not very good about going after companies misusing the mark. This is why you can buy a million brands of $10 OBD-II dongles from Amazon
