Microsoft relocated me to the Seattle area in 2005. I went full time remote about four years ago. I'm too lazy to move. I'd like to live elsewhere, but SeaTac is well connected and I like the weather.

I'm glad the embarrassing stuff I did at age 19 isn't out there. RAF: people grow and change.

Even when you tell people it doesn't help. The compass rose in the floor of the Spokane airport is rotated incorrectly. If you visit, it's down at the end of the rental car area by the last sets of doors.

One of the side effects of the weight loss surgery I got is a very high "cure" rate for T2 diabetes. A couple of the 10+ year veterans are back to active management, but usually, you're done with insulin injections.

This is a huge problem for the open source project I work on. New users are overwhelmed with channels to plumb, and search is not great. I'm open to advice on how to wean our project from chat to email (probably?) Or some better platfo

There are two within a short walk of my place. They're pretty cool! On summer evenings there are frequently parents with kids reading on the bench or picking up a book.

In my experience, any 3d printed item needs a lot of work to make it functional. It isn't as easy as hitting print and walking away. Making one with a router and a cutting board is tedious, but I've done it and the result was func

Barrels, in the US at least, are trivial to replace.

Easier to make a lower out of cutting boards, wood, or Lego than 3D print one. The lower isn't universally the serialized part. In some places, it's the barrel.

Sure. I wanted to avoid the argument over Cooper rules versus NRA rules; I wanted to emphasize that regardless of the rules you use, you need to break multiple rules. The rules interlock.

Breaking one rule of firearm safety won't lead to death or injury. Breaking two at the same time might. It is not one failure. It is at least two.

I've tried three times to rent a manual car at Schiphol, and ended up with an automatic each time. I also noticed that my Uber drivers almost always drive automatics in Amsterdam. I know, plural of anecdote is not data. Oh well. My 199

My experience is hackerone reports are almost 100% low effort spam, managed in an opaque manner. I would not choose it as a platform for a new bug bounty program.

People committing suicide in Seattle, jumping from the 99 bridge, led to at least one PTSD retirement from Adobe. People seemed not to want to land in the water, but on land, and the Adobe area was apparently an inviting target.
