Oh yes, if I had it my way we'd all write for loops like so: int i = 0; int count = 20; while( (i < count) && !(i > count) ) { // some code }

Google Cache[1]. Reminds me of that TDWTF post where engineers were paid based on the amount of lines of code they had written - led to massive comment blocks explaining the simplest things ("This is a for loop that works by..."). [1]: htt

This is great! I had some penned out drawings of something like this but never really took it anywhere. As a developer what I would really like to see is some GitHub/Google Code integration - I want to know when a commit is pushed etc. Some

With /r/programming quickly becoming a mirror of HN I've reason to believe it is just redditors coming to HN. This in turn is leading to more joke/pun comments (something I haven't seen on HN in a long time) and the more liberal applying of

Who needs those photos as marketing? I've seen enough YouTube videos entitled "Free cases!". Apple know how to play their market, those photos are just for the interested technical people.

Annoying as I made something similar with the same objective last night - but a much better implementation than mine (largely because most of the time was spent figuring out PHP's crap SQLite3 class). May have to take you on :)

Perhaps negative-contributors. Regardless, while it's all gone doesn't Google have some sort of versioning/rollback in docs? This should really be protected with a contact email for additions.

Initially it didn't bring anything up for my hometown (quite small but there are some foursquare users) but after going to my uni city and back again it actually brought up a surprising amount of stuff. There's a business networking group a

While I'm excited about HTML5 coming sooner rather than later this article has set me back in confidence about how soon that might be. Maybe I was optimistic but it sounds like there's a lot to be done before YouTube would set about making

Sure, Wordpress can be configured to do anything using plugins etc. but why you would choose that route when there are much more friendly, sensible and more secure platforms out there I don't know.

I love the UI on this, it's the kind of app that I'd run full-screen because it looks like a desktop app. I'll give it a proper try when they can import OPML.

Well since it uses Webkit I guess just Chrome and Safari. It looks like Firefox is behind on animations, although they've implemented transforms now.

Do you happen to know what the rates are for ad-supported apps? Not really sure of what options there are, I've seen Google-branded ads in Android apps though. How do they compare to web advertising?

It's definitely interesting, but I think they should develop this as a separate language - specialised for the web. Inline HTML, JSON and SQL look excellent but to me this should be developed as a "new" language, so it is not bound by restr

I really like the idea of Wave, which is probably why I feel that this person doesn't 'get' Wave. Many of the problems they had were mainly down to the fact Google let people in early while the software wasn't finished. It's not polished an

That's a really good way of empathising with your users. I've seen "sitename will miss you!" type messages, getting social connections involved would be a hell of a lot more persuasive.
