I wouldn't say it's marketing, it's just a fun placeholder with some wit.

What I love about reddit with subreddits is that if you want lisp tutorials you only have to unsubscribe from the high-traffic reddits (e.g. pics, technology) and subscribe to the lower-traffic but more topical reddits.

As far as I know they're accepting patches through github - fork away :)

I've been thinking about #1 a lot - for the most part not many people need to know what comes up and it is distracting. If I were to make my own implementation I thought about adding a 0.5-1 second delay after key-up before fetching results

The most common complaints I've seen are that Gimp isn't Photoshop - meaning PS users who move to it dislike it due to the multi-window UI, 'wrong' key combinations. I actually used Gimp before PS and from my perspective the only things it

I'm not sure how that's relevant but as an aside qgyh2 was a project where a large number of users used the account to post (I haven't got a source and I know it sounds myth-y but it's what I've read).

Where do you differentiate yourselves then? is it just the convenience of having an combination of different services in one place?

Seems it's Facebook's shortening url, perhaps for tracking?

I use Chrome and thus the url bar is my search box, so I won't be able to use it much either (unless it's somehow integrated into Chrome which I'd expect).

I like the fact that in drafting a post you simply save it to the drafts folder in your email client. Since my workflow rotates around the Inbox it comes nicely into it.

I understand why they'd make it optional (in the Firefox way of 'if you know about it you can enable it') but why not enable it automatically on platforms that support it?

If I'm honest the "restraint of colour" is really a lack of colour. It needs colour - I fall foul of this all the time as I don't mind grey-scale colour schemes but it really needs at least 1, preferably two colours.

I assume xAuth was put in place for the apps that the user really only accesses directly when they need to change something - things like RSS -> Twitter reposters. In this case an app may not be able to get in touch with a user to infor

I agree, it's certainly better than just a text box with "OpenID" as the label and makes an attempt at saying what an OpenID actually is for people that haven't got one.

OWA degrades to what I deem a much cleaner client than the version you get if you use IE. The OWA you get in IE7+ uses ActiveX or some sort of Windows-specific JavaScript trickery which is why they restrict it's access to a browser they kno

In my opinion on the landing page you should have two sentences saying what the app does - what problem it solves. Your registration form is short so keep that in a box to the right - login can go in a popup or on another page though right?

These suggestions, while normal on any other site, wouldn't work on reddit. The real problem reddit has is that it's community, which can be amazing at times, has grown used to a great user experience when it comes to advertising - the lack

I find serif's easier to read if they're large enough (Readability does it right I think, fairly large serif text).

As long as it isn't your only authentication method I don't see harm in adding it. I'm extremely turned off by sites that want me to sign-on, with the only option being Facebook, because I've had enough of sites demanding irrelevant permiss

I'm not completely happy with the list view. The only blocking problem is that the person I email near every day does not even appear under the My Contacts subsection. I've actually found out the reason while writing - apparently My Contact

I was about to suggest Ctrl+B then did a double-take. Have they removed the bookmark bar from the dev build? Edit: Ah, they've changed it to Shift+Ctrl+B.

Returns the same old bogus "I emailed them once" people listed in my Google chat, apart from one person. Since I haven't given Google or YouTube my Facebook info it can't be so accurate.

Do you know what networks it works with in other countries? I'm interested in getting one in the UK. Or is it just a matter of using a SIM that has 3G support etc.

I get around this by archiving emails as I complete them. If completing them just means reading them then they get archived immediately. If I need to refer to them later in the week I just leave them in my inbox. If my inbox gets bigger tha
