If the language is fake, enough special attention was paid to constructing it to look real enough in the present day to still attract analysis. If it's real, it hasn't ever been turned into anything meaningful. Either outcome

RethinkDB kicked (at least) 2 people from their Github organization involved in Horizon development. This tells me they plan to continue the organization in some way--probably under another company and not with Horizon at all. Considering

Apple can't figure out that I don't want to say 'ducking' after hundreds of times of dismissing it with their keyboard. Siri never delivered on what was promised--part of the reason the microphone in the new wireless ear

The market continues to do a lot of culling, yes, but some commercial software is great. Look at the Jetbrains products. They make many open source IDEs feel janky, broken, and non-cohesive in comparison. Some problems aren't solved
