I often just use Google dictionary which spells the word phonetically or just plays the word to me. However, I like your idea that you can embed the sound key into something else, and have sounds which are more like audio semiotics. (audioo

sure, I understand what you mean. But surely no one would really install and sync a 50GB Dropbox on someone else's computer? The web front end allows you to have the best of both worlds.

This blog post is not considering the USB metaphor in context of Dropbox. You wouldn't install Dropbox on someone else's computer just to get a couple of files. You would go online log into your Dropbox and get them from there.

I actually got the point, I was saying that it was still obvious which part was bigger, which is what a pie chart should be used for. Anything more complex than that, and it's being used incorrectly.

uh... why? I could see that the red part was bigger than the blue part. THAT Pie chart was bad because of the legend being self representational, not the isometric projection.

With mutli-core CPU now almost ubiquitous Threading is completely essential (outside of a GUI). I can't imagine developing a scalable application without threads. There is a language called Fantom which purports to be "thread safe" I believ

it's a bit like http://blippr.com but no reason there can't be two (or three) similar. I like the layout, and colours, looks easier to find media than Blippr. Good luck.

I object to your use of the word "developer" in that sentence ;) I totally agree with you, as a developer I would have strongly objected to storing peoples CCV number to start with. Generally, this is shocking, and backs up what so many in

I enjoying working with others. The issue I face is many people might "like" an idea, but so few are willing to commit to it. So I am currently working on my own just out of shear tenacity. I'm almost of the opinion to work on a startup wit

If it is only for use on Facebook, I would go for option 4, then expand to option 2 (if it's quicker). If you plan to expand beyond Facebook, I would be tempted to start with option 1 and expand to 3.

You can fill in the "about" section in the profile with text can't you? Most users put their web site URLs in there.
