We're only massacring the fruiting bodies. The mycelium is just fine and lives on to create even more fruiting bodies. It's like picking apples from an apple tree. The tree itself isn't harmed in the slightest. The only diffe

I'm not sure this is the best showcase. It doesn't show me any kind of a before and after to demonstrate the 2D-3D process. Also, the interior-view floor plans don't quite make sense e.g. doors leading into impossible spaces,

Hoo boy. I lost waaaaay too many hours to the Monster Hunt mod back in the day. The RPG style PvE one. All those leeches link gunning the one brave player at the front shooting the boss... Crazy fun I'm not sure if this release is a go

WINE has come along way (in fact, legacy Windows apps tend to work better on Linux that Windows 11 these days), especially when you add in Proton, Winetricks, etc. It's worth a shot

Have you considered installing Linux and seeing if WINE/Proton can run that software? Might free up a bit of RAM headroom, and if it doesn't work out, you haven't lost anything more than a bit of time as you'll just be g

I keep wondering how many things like this need to happen before the other shoe drops and the ring-around-the-rosie investment structure collapses. It's become very obvious that "AI" in its current form isn't going to tu

I'm a bit shocked that people are putting that much stock in this. It's yet another circular investment in the current circus, and since when has Google reliably produced and stood by hardware? I'm not totally convinced it&#x

A failure they fully admit they learned from. Proton was the outcome of that failure, and I'd say they are well poised to make a bigger dent this time.

Fungi existed before plants, and definitely before plants evolved to the point of being what we'd consider trees. In fact, we find large fungi fossils that once likely lined the landscape like trees do now.

I mean, this isn't THAT surprising. Photosynthesis after all is just radiosynthesis of electromagnetic radiation in the visible or near visible spectrum. Gamma radiation is the same phenomenon, just with a far higher frequency and enou

Came here to post this, although sadly it isn't considered a person, and isn't actually the original tree. That said, I'd imagine if anyone tried to take down the son of the tree that owned itself, Athens residents would revo

This is super trippy. I saw the screenshots first and though "Huh, they really nailed that early point-and-click RPG vibe. Neat, but only mildly interesting". Then I clicked on the video and realized it's 3D. "Oh..."

I have a few questions about test frameworks that use AI services like this. 1)The examples always seem very generic: "Test Login Functionality, check if search works, etc". Do these actually work well at all once you step outside
