Actually it is 1 day maximum, which is the legal requirement for transfers within the EWR. If it takes longer at your bank, go sue them. But I can't share your experience. I've lately transferred money between three different bank

I just don't get it. No one would argue that there clearly are different preferences in terms of the preferred indention width among different developers. So who on earth thinks: hey, I like an indention of 2 spaces. Let's just re

How is giving inflation-adjusted values any better than statements like "since last year"? Both are relative to the time the article was written and thus no longer adequate some years later.

So clearly, there are people who favor 2 and people who prefer 4. Solution: Indent with tabs, configure your editor, and everyone is happy. I don't get why people still promote the use of spaces.

I appreciate your suggestions and will give them a try. One potential problem I see is that while my desk and chair are height-adjustable, unfortunately the armrests of my chair are not. That could get in the way of "hanging my arms lo

I know. But just because something is the first, doesn't mean it (still) is the best ;) But as I already said, I agree; everything that came after was subpar.

As far as I know, Smalltalk never had "real" multiple inheritance, but merely an experimental hack implementation around doesNotUnderstand (cf. http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?MultipleInheritanceInSmalltalk ). So I wo

In iOS 9, there currently seem to be 45 methods whose selector alone is longer than 140 characters. But how many of those are actually supposed to be used is another question ;)

What would be disadvantageous about it? This facet makes Smalltalk (and Ruby) extremely consistent, I don't see how that would be a bad thing (as long as we are talking about an object-oriented language).

nil in Smalltalk is an object itself, so if you want to build something Option-like with it, this is pretty straightforward to implement. Considering that Citrine claims that "everything is an object", this should also be the case

It's funny because I'm currently reading "The Circle" by Dave Eggers where having cameras recording every moment of your life is a central aspect of the story. No, actually it is not funny. It is creepy.
