Have a look at https://github.com/rochus-keller/Oberon which runs on different operating systems and architectures. You can even generate platform-independent C which I e.g. used to port the Oberon System 3 ( https:&#x

Thanks. I listened to the examples and the pieces sound pretty convincing (ignoring the synthetic character of the instruments). Is what I hear directly generated from the DNN output, or was there some "manual" selection and tweak

I was surprised by the presented defintion and checked Wikipedia about who the author is: " Richard David Wolff (born April 1, 1942) is an American Marxian economist known for his work on economic methodology and class analysis. "

There are approaches with at least partly the same goals as you mentioned, e.g. Zig. Personally I have been working on my own C replacement for some time which meets many of your points (see https://github.com/micron-languag

There were not many fancy editors at that time compared to today's measures. As far as I remember, M4 came with its own (not that fancy) development environment. For CLIPS there was the REPL and some primitive IDE.

Yes, I had some projects in the late eighties/early nineties, with expert system shells like M4 by TechKnowledge, CLIPS by NASA and some homegrown shells based on Lisp or Objective-C. Not that scary at all, but the main challenge was t

Interesting, but I think the article’s argument for the "bitter lesson" relies on logical fallacies. First, it misrepresents critics of scaling as dismissing compute entirely, then frames scaling and optimization as mutually exclu

That's remarkable. A new name for where we came from before the microservice hype. So I suspect that the opposite of the "modular monolith" would be the famous "big ball of mud".
