I’ve gotten the absolute best results from LLMs just acting like the software engineer I’ve aspired to be the past 15 years. Normal dev things. Scope the ticket properly, break it down. Test well. Write the correct docs. LLM specific things

Whether we want to accept it or not, we’re now QA. That’s not derogatory, at all. But I don’t think the answer here is to double down on reading the code and understanding that deeply. We’re rapidly moving past this. I think the answer is t

And we can't forget the nationalism at the time. Everyone was rallied behind the program and wanting to beat the Soviet Union. I mean, sputnik scared the hell out of everyone. I think that's probably important framing for how thin

I really appreciate the gesture, but this kind of feels like it’s an attempt to claw (lol) some good will back from devs. The barrier is way too high, imo. And the 6 month cap does make sense given the cost of LLMs but it’s a bad feeling. W

Honestly, build it yourself. I think we’re firmly in the personal software era (or disposable). But if you don’t want to, I’ve been building basically this https://github.com/Robdel12/OrbitDock Native macOS and iOS app

Heh, I felt the same. I'm a web dev but I do not want a electron app. We can do better, I used to write electron apps because I wasn't able to build a proper native app. Now I can! I've been building a native macOS/iOS a

I really want to use google’s models but they have the classic Google product problem that we all like to complain about. I am legit scared to login and use Gemini CLI because the last time I thought I was using my “free” account allowance

I’m a heavy Claude code user and it’s pretty clear they’re starting to bend under their vibe coding. Each Claude code update breaks a ton of stuff, has perf issues, etc. And then this. They want to own your dev workflow and for some reason

I really really want local or self hosted models to work. But my experience is they’re not really even close to the closed paid models. Does anyone any experience with these and is this release actually workable in practice?

I’ve fallen in love with emacs again now that I can have an LLM tune up my config. I love emacs, I don’t love lisp. Maybe LLMs are helping me with that, too. But I so happy with my config now. Simplified and modern.

To me doing network interception in browser driven tests is a smell like that. Unless you’re running vs a full mocked server (like MSW). I’m a big fan of testing exactly like a user. Users don’t use network intercepts, timeouts, etc. All of
