I would pay $100 / mo. I would like a desk, bathroom, and internet, but I don't need the receptionist. There should be a server closet where a member can leave a low-powered server, like an ordinary desktop, running, but pay extra for th

I understand from various articles I have read, that when you go to actually sell loose diamonds, you don't get much for them and find it hard to get near the "appraised value" offered. Consider this article: http://www.theatlantic.com/do

I have just spent some time reading up on GFS2. It sounds interesting. But it also seems aimed at "SAN" style storage, which is expensive. The acronyms that gaius posted above were also interesting to google, but I don't want to buy sto

I think if you compare the cost of getting a dual power supply server, to the cost of getting two servers, you will conclude that buying two servers gives you more reliability per dollar. I have come to the same conclusion even with regard

What you say may well be true. But Google was not willing to send a representative to say that in court, or have someone type it into an email, or have one of their many automated systems put that into an email. Google is certainly capabl

It seemed a little rambly and stream-of-consciousness, but when he talks he's like that. His written stuff is a little more disciplined. Bruce Sterling has been one of my favorite authors since I found him, I have always felt that his stor

I buy ramen at 8 to 10 cents a pack, and not at any special restaurant supply place or anything like that, just the good old HEB. If you start going the route of adding pinches of veges and peanut butter and etc, and your own flavorings, yo

Thanks for posting the link to that essay, it's one of PG's that I missed and I enjoyed it. I like the observation that marginal space matters. That is one of the reasons why I left the Boston area, after staying there a while after school
