Why languages that compiles to JS won't apply? Let's say Elm for example? Still I am too excited to see rise of traditional non-specialized languages to web game with webasm like Blazor (C#/.Net) but yep not production ready.

I built my iris some time ago and have to say that it's lot of fun to use. Price was also pretty good in this genre but of course it's DIY asset. Limited size makes work qualified layout creation challenging but I hope to nail it

Hmm I think this should go something like this: How would objects created from X and Y can reach each other and communicate when X is not dependent from Y or otherwise? You need global mutable state or your own code witch depends from both

Shell is kind of REPL (read–eval–print loop). In OOP you use looping with mutation and in FP you use recursion. This may not sound very informative but still: "Just fold over inputs, what's the problem?". Being immutable does

If your workflow is like: 1. Manipulate current directory 2. Run some program 3. Manipulate current directory again 4. Run yet another program... You can actually consider current directory as immutable already. It became "badly mutab

You can still build compatibility layer on top of immutable FS. Like being mutable from program(s) perspective while being able to control how these changes are capsulated from rest of the system. You could, for example, see what your >

I think that if we use purish FP as our system language it doesn't make sense to just emulate imperative/mutable system. But mm... why you would want to mutable state like current directory in first place? Or even mutable filesyst

This is an interesting idea. And like very often things that may seem like counterexamples on the surface are actually open doors to something completely different ways of doing things. Like: -Normal (stacked / Z) navigation is still s

I agree that mutability won't often bite professional programmers as you say. But as context is good to know that quite typical F# programmer has strong C# background like you. Individual features are often raised during discussions bu

I have a dream that some day we have statically typed language which would have first-class types with some compile time meta programming. For given example data, type providers output just something and typically it's 95% what you wan

I used once unique many-to-many addresses by making them immutable. You don't update update them, just add new one to customer and detach old one.
