Talk about noise in the gym, there is one sound that's missing lately. My gym recently went to these 8-sided, plastic coated weight plates. They're easy to handle, they have holes to put your hand through. But I miss the old

Great idea! I agree it's a good holistic-health measure.

Thanks for that. I agree, diversity in news sources is a good way to get differing perspectives. (Also, perspectives not being pushed from the same opposing ideologies, as you suggest.)

It's a good point that it could be my own biases, or it could be that Trump really is terrible while Obama was just wonderful. But I don't think those are it. When Jimmy Carter says the media is applying a different standard to T

These are good questions. I'd say left-leaning sources are those that tend to report negatively on conservative politicians and positively on liberals. The Harvard study purports to measure what constitutes negative coverage, so this

And here's the link to an article on Carter's quote. Jimmy Carter has been in that seat, and he says the media has been harder on Trump. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2

I beg to differ. A Harvard study confirmed that news sources have been overwhelmingly left-leaning, especially since Trump. Even former President Jimmy Carter has said so. So no, there is no unbiased, high quality mainstream media. There

Numerically, there are a great many more left-leaning sources than there are right. Another conservative network would be good. If we can't have fair news, at least we can get biased news in equal and opposing doses.

Can't have a conversation about trailers without mentioning James Carville's famous double-wammy. "Drag a hundred-dollar bill through a trailer park, you never know what you'll find." With that one quote, he smeared

Raising a privileged family takes just one generation to sacrifice. As numerous financial books will testify, if you are frugal (no matter the income) and invest wisely, it is possible to accumulate some measure of fortune. If you teach yo

I disagree. The media (left and right) is forever trying to twist things to their narrative. Social media democratizes this. But if I post crazy things all the time, I'll lose balanced followers and will probably pick up biased follo

Ironic they'd choose George Clooney as the cover subject. He's basically the poster-boy for inherited privilege and wealth (and a card carrying Weinstein-enabler), but he's credited with 'charm'.

Incredible. I'll have to read more about Evergreen, to see how much of this is unbiased fact. If it's true, we should all be very concerned.

It's true. PC culture is so strong it's dangerous to have an opinion outside of what popular culture pushes on us. It's not a good situation. There's blatant hypocrisy in the air as well. (Many of the same voices call

Set aside for a moment your feeling on net neutrality. We can all admire the way Pai is mocking the massive media machine that's been picking on him for months. I'm glad to see it, I'm sick of the monopolistic media machine.

Life gives us all different cards to play. In some ways, I agree today's kids have it tougher. In other ways, there are opportunities that did not exist in the past. I have hopes for today's recent grads in that things remind me
