> The catch-22 here is that if I choose to blend in, then people like the commenters above assume that everything they see was written by men, and use that as an excuse to dismiss the concerns of women in the tech industry Couldn't this

According to other HNers, their RSS feed seems to be fairly accurate (someone please verify this), which makes the whole thing that much weirder.

The status page seems to really underplay the severity of the situation. Netflix and Heroku are down, yet these are just side effects of 'performance issues' instead of a 'service disruption'. I wonder what it would take to cross that thres

We're making different assumptions. You're assuming a well-rounded web developer that just wants to deploy, while I'm thinking more from the beginner developer perspective. We're both right with our assumptions applied.

I know what you mean. I have a lot of issues with AWS, but the AWS console is exactly what my manager needs so he can do things himself. Simple things such as AWS load balancing fails when we get any decent amount of traffic.

I've learned to ignore the checks passed for quite a while, especially for servers on load balance.

I love Flask: You just do things the way you want, written in Python. You're free to make your own (potentially stupid :P) decisions.

> "Just as simple to setup for web as php" That's simply not true. I love Python (I'm using Flask for projects at this moment), but saying that setting up a python web service is as easy as php is disingenuous.

I'm a big RTM fan myself, although I'm honestly not too pleased with their latest UI update on the iPhone. It's prettier, but not as snappy.

Have any Flask projects in the wild for us to see? The "Powered by Flask" section in the Flask docs is full of quick toy projects.

8GB of 1066 DDR3 was $400 from Apple until just recently. I laughed so loud in the office when I saw that on their website.
