Unfortunately, it seems the official documentation on installing Python modules[0] makes absolutely no mention of pip or even easy_install. Seems like something that should be there, right? [0]: http://docs.python.org/install/

Do you have any recommended resources for programmers looking to pick up Lua?

Plenty of blogs promote themselves as DoFollow Blogs. It's a bit sad, really. They basically trade their "link juice" for your insincere, contrived comments.

I was able to rank for some moderately competitive terms just by paying someone minimum wage to go leave nice comments on dofollow blogs. The whole "Content is king" meme is a joke, really.

I like this idea a lot. I came across a nice, concise explanation of a Buffer overflow http://www.apolis.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=...

Cue the Agile coaches switching over to teaching "Valve". "Refinery" meetings are held in a format called the "Engine room".

Parent was excited about his contribution. Just because you want insight into "the process" doesn't mean parent has to deliver to you.

If replying to a comment with "Upvoted" is unproductive, what's more productive about saying "Downvoted"?

I'm in the same boat as you. What I've discovered while learning rails is that while you may have a hard time tracking down function names, you'll almost always remember them for next time.

As someone who knows absolutely nothing about CPUs, is this CPU design _that_ good, or is it just the fact that Notch made it that's generated all this hype?

This community is generally fairly dry and to the point, which is a great way to maintain high quality discussions, but I'm enjoying all these fun comments! :)

I was upset, I find the elitist attitude to be extremely irritating. Should've waited a few minutes to cool off before responding. The fact that it's pg's opinion doesn't mean anything to me, though.

It's just extremely silly how people don't want other people on HN, as if they are any different.

If you think the value of HN stems from it not being popular with the masses, you're fully capable of making HN 1 unit better by leaving. Oh, wait, this doesn't apply to you , does it?

Nvidia control panel would _constantly_ segfault. You're right, it should be trivial, but it wasn't. I ended up using disper and disregarding the xservers entirely.

Love Kubuntu, although getting dual screens set up was unreasonably hard. After that hiccup it's been pretty smooth sailing.
