That's ok, but based on your example, how would a human apply an algorithm that it can't determine why it worked? We're not talking about "Not Hotdog" here. Application of a model in a real-world at-scale scenario i

State of the art performance is being broken in multiple fields rapidly these days. However, AI explainability has a long way to go. Scaling opaqueness makes this problem worse. Fine tuning labels black-box style is a terrifying concept to

Agree with you in principle. I think the point I'm trying to make (and I could be communicating it poorly) is that these tools allow for building a summarized, retrospective, and opinionated view of data. This often doesn't meet b

Why dashboards and BI tools suck: 1. Much of the context is abstracted away when charts and summaries are crammed into a (usually) single page. This makes it hard for people to interpret quickly and requires a high degree of data literacy 2

It’s a disappointing misunderstanding to see the blog post lead with design != marketing personas, and then try label psychographic and demographic usage against each, respectively. Marketing is finding product market fit. Product is a sub-

This is how I use them too. Personas are the idea or target, you validate the persona against the data collected related to segments/cohorts, etc. Drift of cohorts from personas shows a change in behavior that needs to be understood.

It’s statistically safest to live on Mars to avoid bear attacks.... the data matters. There’s limited real world application, and that’s what matters most. Semantics and arguing definitions isn’t useful.

The author is using a tool designed for landing pages. The quality of the samples are going to be wildly different and that needs to be taken into account. Linkedin calculates an ad impression (last I checked) as 50% of the ad is on screen

I did, and I think there's a lot of p-hacking going on. Leading with TV advertising is disingenuous at best. The ebay example twists the concept of user acquisition (new customers) and purchases (new or old customers). It is a common

Often you get the data in aggregate, bought and sold as an “audience”. It’s a Boolean flag if a person in the audience. Basically an array of IDs for people in the audience (true). Almost always the data seller masks the ID of people in th
