You pay for those teachers typically with property tax revenues. Their pay goes up; your taxes go up. At least, that's how it works in many locales.

This. I cannot believe the board gave him such an amazing amount of rope, for so very long, and they are just coming to ask those questions. I wonder what they thought the problem was?
