That's fine. But couldn't that just mean "define" any value at all? There's nothing in it to say it's specifically for defining a value only ONCE.

Yeah, the corporation cancer. DRM slowdowns have also made the built-in apps like TV worse for watching shows than just pirating and watching them with IINA etc. In Jobs' days iTunes even let you play purchased songs on any computer. I

I've been using my 16" MacBook Pro with M2 Max and 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB of SSD, for more than 2 years and I feel or see no reason to upgrade. At least not until there's an external design refresh. But maybe I'll get the M5

Yes please! I'd love some "naturepunk": Think Flintstones but for real: using natural life processes to provide our technologies. Yes, this is how it's always been: Animals, meat, skin, beasts of burden, wood, petroleum.

Oh yes! That is the exact same extrapolation: Just a better, more-exaggerated version of how we already do things!! Faster horses!

This is actually something I was thinking about lately: How science fiction (and future-predictors) mostly only extrapolates from our current ways of doing things. Like those Victorian era drawings of people in posh dresses walking across l

That's an aesthetically awkward and also bug-prone syntax: So just a difference of 1 single letter (that looks similar) to mean the completely opposite thing?? Nah you don't want that, and I don't either.

If designing your hypothetical ideal language, what are some intuitive/cute keywords you would choose for mutables/immutables? `let` is so 2020. `const` is too long. `static` makes me fall asleep at the keyboard. `con` sounds bad.

Reddit is mostly trash now, but here's the thing though: If people stop talking to each other, what are all the AIs going to train on? Like say a hot new game comes out tomorrow, SuperDuperBuster (don't steal this name). I fire up

We should be more worried about OpenAI forever twisting the word "Open" the same way as the "Democratic"/"Republic" in the names of countries like North Korea etc.
