3 AM. Watching a video on the Mac. I'm on bed, the Mac's on the desk. iPhone and iPad charging next to the Mac. "Hey Siri, put the Mac to sleep" iPhone blares up with a cacophony loud enough to wake the graveyard several

Fighting the zeitgeist never works out. The world's gonna move on whether you move on with it or not. I for one would love to have summary executions for anyone who says that Hello-Fellow-Kids cringe pushed on us by middle-aged squares

IINA on Mac, free & open source, has been perfect for everything for years: https://github.com/iina/iina While traveling I was so pissed with the Apple TV player's performance on less-than-lightspeed internet

Maybe the buccaneers need to up their marketing. Whatever happened to the media players that had built-in torrent searching and streaming?

BitTorrent → Local Media Player App Still the best way to watch movies and shows. Even if we pay $100 dollars every month to streaming services they will never not be too dumb to know how to make a convenient player that isn't hostile

It's specially annoying when people use it to latch on to achievements they had no part in. Like Americans today going "We stopped Hitler" etc.

Wingspan for me. Pretty chill "engine building" card game based on, of course, birds, with beautiful artwork and on the digital versions some very pleasant music: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1054490

The title alone made me think this should be more of a thing: People writing "life reviews" of the time they've spent so far.

This looks promising. How come I hadn't heard of it?? My own ideas for an ideal syntax included keywords like "on" instead of "func" etc. (i.e. be totally event/signal driven) Taking a look!

Jai is just a C-like with manual memory management etc. I mean something that is divorced from hardware and just focuses on gameplay logic; let the engine continue to be in C++/Rust/whatever.

I've been wondering about this for some time, that how there really isn't a language that's made from the ground up just for coding gameplay logic. Like we have SQL for databases, Julia etc for maths etc, but gamedevs still h

But people who are against UBI by default seem to want some kind of "policing" before they'll consider it. Various countries have various things that operate on similar principles, such as transit cards etc. Hell, even VIDEO
