I'm beating a dead horse here but other commenters are correct, your footwear sucks or you've got something else going in. I've done lots of hiking in the military, >20 mile distances, and we don't go light - I'm

This isn't realistic for most people. How many foresters/ mineral surveyors are there?

I'm still running an FX-6300 and it can't be beat, the thing only cost me $100. It does everything I need it to. I could imagine myself going for a ~$300 AMD chip.

For prototypes I'm either using Node + Express or Flask, depending on what I feel like that day or what database I need. I don't really like using MySQL with Node, I think it's easier with Python so if I need SQL, I'm in

Actually no, I have really difficult time with social skills, and I know a lot of other programmer types that struggle in the same areas I do. Where did I imply that I'm better than anyone else?

If you turn up the heat a little, you can just get some or all team members to voluntarily quit. Boom, problem solved.

This is a really interesting statement. I interpreted it several different ways before understanding what you mean. Yes, I agree with all of these.

The world is a social place. Who you know is much more important than what you know, a lot of times. Unfortunately I think this means that the personality types who seek management jobs are often gaining their position by personality, not q

You're right. - If Arch is targeted for power users, what's preventing them from configuring symlinks etc? - Why aren't they using virtualenvs? I never install Python packages outside of a virtualenv.

The decision is pretty simple: if a user doesn't like the way Arch does things, they're free to use any of a hundred other distros. I'm with you, I think this is fine.

I don't have experience in a lot of companies but the typical PM in my opinion is a waste of space. At least, that's been my experience so far. Regardless of money earned, I'd rather be doing anything else.

Manga Studio is quite awesome, one of my favorite pieces of creative software ever. I wish it could be used to make vector art too - then I'd never need anything else.

The double-edged sword of not moderating based on racism and other undesirable behavior is that your job as a moderator is much easier, but you have the terrible reputation that 4chan has. I am personally fine with boards that allow pretty

4chan seems to do ok. Or maybe not, depending on your perspective. There are a ton of smaller chan style boards that are awesome and don't seem to have the problems everyone is talking about here.
