My six year old loves scratch. I got him started, and a couple of hours later he'd figured out how to make a character jump around the screen, shoot laser beams, and make sound effects. I was thoroughly impressed. I think the way they

Excellent post! I hated my last job, was thoroughly miserable and finally realized that I had ended up in a state of "learned helplessness." Your approach would have helped me tremendously. Thankfully, I've had some time for

I believe that in the 60s, Japan was the source of many of the kinds of imports that we're now getting from China.

> capital is set up to clean labors clock in the coming decades. I think this is true, and I think it will result in massive civil unrest. Economic landscape is not the only thing that will change.

Are you still hiring? If so, I'd like to check your company out and send a resume over.

I should have put more effort into it too. What I remember about Win Amp in the (90's?) was how customizable it was and how many features it had. It was really flashy and advanced for that time period. It's been years since I'

There are a lot of responses here about resumes, self-confidence, etc, so I won't reiterate those things. What type of companies are you applying for? My background is a lot like yours (minus the boot camp), and I've had much bett

I don't have ton of experience, but I've gotten about an interview a week since I started looking for a job. I started by applying to 20 or 30 jobs a day, once I got a few interviews I slowed down. I'm currently interviewing

I've been dabbling with Riot.js and it looks promising. It's very lightweight compared to Angular / React and I was able to get going with it in ~30 minutes.

Setting up Java or Python isn't that difficult. At the very least, being able to follow the instructions to set up either environment is a screener for people who aren't suited for something as detail oriented as programming, IMO.

Racket seems focused on education and experimentation and in that arena I think it's very successful. I'm pretty impressed with where Racket has gone and I think it's very cool.

I wanted to be a musician, but musicians don't make any money. Some of them do but you know...same thing with being an artist. I do art, but art doesn't feed the kids.

I found that my friends and family didn't mix well, my crude friends were posting random garbage that my grandma was reading. Then there was family drama, backstabbing, angry political posts. The reasons for me to leave far outweighed
