Why was it necessary to bundle the _MACOSX and .DS_Store files with the zip download? I rarely see zip files with thumbs.db or desktop.ini files in them.

No. Either way you're going to have to launch an app in iOS to share a message to Facebook. You can tweet pictures straight from the photo gallery, but if you want to post to Facebook then you have to launch the Facebook app and upload the

Or even better, just ask Siri for directions. It understands "work" or "home" if you've added them to yourself in the Address Book.

Are you kidding me? They make it extremely obvious. Apps with in-app purchases have a giant message on the App Store that, upon clicking, brings you to a list of things the application has for sale. Not to mention there's a restriction on i

I thought 4.0 was supposed to stop that? iOS 5.1 runs on every iOS device released in the last 3 years. When can we expect all Android devices released in the past 2-3 years running the latest OS?

BlackBerry OS also had a granular approach to permissions, much like Android. iOS seems to only care about your location when it comes to permissions which worries me a little.

Because that's what Chrome does and Google was sucking market share away from Mozilla. The only difference is Chrome silently updates in the background and applies updates when the browser is closed. Firefox still throws up a modal dialog w

I can't take an article seriously that refers to Mozilla's web browser as FireFox. What's next? SaFari? InterNet Explorer? What what it's worth, I've long stopped using Firefox since the release of Chrome. The constant dealing with extensio

I recently had to block every single APNIC /8 using iptables. Ideal solution? No, but the amount of DDoS traffic and brute force intrusion attempts went to virtually nothing. It also upsets me that with the sheer amount of malicious activit

Amazon also does not charge for inbound bandwidth. I'm not sure what you're getting at. They also had to do the comparison with the additional support package from Amazon to inflate the price to make their pricing model look more appealing.

Soooo because one person on Reddit said I should blackout my sites on 1/18/12 means I should? I'll be a little more involved once I hear Google/Yahoo/Microsoft/Wikipedia/Facebook start mentioning dates.

Just like Mint does I'm sure. Their site has a ton of credit card offers to lower interest rates, balance transfers, etc. I'm sure those companies give Credit Karma a sum of money for every credit card offer someone takes up.
