That wouldn't have prevented tech bros from hijacking the cultural momentum or commoditizing attention. Even a maximum fidelity web archive would drown in the noise just the same.

What a collective waste of energy. Had no idea any of this was/is going on. For the sake of my personal systems I hope NixOS makes it; wouldn't be the first community that fails because of such kindergarten nonsense...

I kind of wonder how many BTC I had... Never got around to installing a GPU-accelerated miner back then (they were quite new) as I quickly stopped seeing the point (the more sensible alternative for donating computation was BOINC) and delet

AFAIAA the joke comes from Arch's purported superiority (rolling release, close to upstream, bleeding edge, KISS) as compared to "bloated/slow" e.g. Ubuntu. It's kinda old now and existed even before the controversi

What VM setup do you use? Does it play well with W11's TPM requirements? Does GPU acceleration work?

Even more depressingly these works come to be used as a sort of handbook. Ostensibly Snow Crash is dystopian literature, but tech bros liked it and its author even has been co-opted as a "futurist" by Blue Origin. See https:&#x2F

In Germany, higher education costs a few hundred bucks per six months (plus CoL obviously). Also gets you a train ticket. Probably similar in other European countries.

I ignore it. Use filtering mechanisms if it occurs in places you don't want to ditch entirely (i.e. on HN I block certain key words and sites). It's way too incomprehensible and corrosive for my mind otherwise.
