This is far beyond that. The doctors are brazenly prioritizing "not being bothered" over the health of their patients. Over prescription of antipsychotics is still common in US psychiatric facilities, and even if not there are alt

Unsure that is a sound direction. https://www.mixminion.net/ is defunct but it and its predecessor paid close attention to metadata removal. It's basically Tor but with variable, high latency. It never took off, you ne

No, it's not the main concern usually. Most people who are anti-GMO are against the gene editing part and its potential effects on the human genome. If you probe deeply enough you realize there's not much there.

This stuff is presented in middleschool and highschool health classes and pretty much everywhere on the internet if you look for life improvement advice. Weight is perhaps the single most strongly linked indicator of life expectancy. What i

You are wrong. There are great volumes of evidence that keeping a low weight and keeping macronutrients roughly in some gap makes you live longer. I'm not sure what is left to be talking about. Specific fad diets?

I agree, a lot of problems seem to stem from over-reliance on federal authority to solve problems. It can get a bit reductionist but people are essentially mad they are not able to live in the way they want.

There's a system in india where mercy killings are normal and there are plenty of stories of families plotting to kill their elders. It could end up like that if normalized.

The problem with GMO life is an organism trying to reproduce plus your goal is inherently less fit than an organism merely trying to reproduce. This really only works at accelerating a reset after a mass die off.

It's "easier" to capture from water in chemical terms but harder to actually move the water. I think the economy of moving the weight of water makes this a nonstarter. Also yes, ocean acidification is likely to be the bigger

That makes no sense. If land affects the value of the land around it then it had to have gone up. If you put 10 family dwellings on land, then its value is at least that of 10 family dwellings. So each individual renter is somehow paying

It's achievable (for most people I suspect frequent HN, anyway) if you put away a couple months of disposable income. If you don't care about playing games on it it's about the same cost as a high end gaming computer, and wha

Two options: the claimed IP on the interface is removed or said to never have existed in the first place, and/or prevent bootloader locking. First one is a very good idea, as older IP law actually holds that interfaces aren't copy

Overly optimistic. If you stack 10 family homes the land is now 10x more valuable and gets taxed accordingly.

It depends. If owned land is converted for rent then the LVT is passed on to the tenant. To avoid paying the LVT tenants are incentivized to own, which may imply buying new construction. As population density increases, desirability increas

I like it too, but it seems to incentivize sprawl. If people attempt to lease land the LVT will be passed to their tenants. To avoid paying the LVT, tenants will look for new construction.

Home prices are up because there is no supply. There's no supply because people can't afford to build houses. The issue isn't home ownership, it's the lack of it. An LVT might work but I think it is only ethical if you

Look for stories of people who are post-op or have gone a large portion of their life as trans. Sometimes they end up figuring out it's not for them. In most of those cases, it's not really that they were tricked or coerced, it&#x
