This came up on another thread a while back, but Psygnosis still officially has the awesomest logo of all time.

My name got me made fun of constantly as a kid, but if someone asked me if I would have rather been named something else, the answer is an immediate and resolute no. These days all I get is compliments for my name. Yesterday a new person at

I'm interested in trying it, mine are beat up as is. How do you get the ear pads off to be able to unscrew the parts shown in the pictures?

I agree on them being worth it. That said, the best sounding headphones I've head (better than my HD 555's) were some 30 dollar Sony G74 (or something) 'street' headphones that they don't make anymore. The trade-off was that they were easil

Apparently I am more abusive to my headphones because I managed to break a plastic part on one side that connects the ear parts to the headband, mainly from them getting dropped on the floor countless times due to repeatedly tripping over t

One of my favorite sci fi books on this subject is Neal Stephenson's The Diamond Age. The awesome part is that the book is about the manufacturing revolution that follows the 3d printer. Always two++ steps ahead, that guy.

Good point. Hopefully solar tech will get to the point where making use of that energy is worth the investment.

I also checked out mog after reading your post, and it seems like a great service. My post was not meant as a critique of mog; the main point was that before Pandora, 'managing' my music was a time-consuming and tedious process. Discovering

I think it culminated in that, but as with every revolution in history, the causes of these things are far more nuanced and complex than they tend to appear at first glance. The American Revolution was about far more than taxes on tea for e

A similar thing happened many years ago when an early version of Half-Life 2 got leaked. Reaction was tepid at best, Valve went back and basically re-made the entire game (delaying an already delayed game for substantially longer), but ulti

I stay with Pandora precisely because I can't listen to whatever I want, whenever I want, as many times in a row as I want. That's a whole lot of deciding and deciding takes time and effort. Pandora knows the music I like and is amazing

I feel like they could make a crapload of money if they sold/licensed their music selection technology/music information database. It would make their own streaming radio mostly irrelevant though.
