I rarely check my Facebook on my phone but when I do, I use their website. But for a few days now, every time I tap on the messages icon it bounces me to the Google store app for their messenger. I literally cannot see my messages anymore!

This article gave me some confidence in finally trying to boot Arch Linux on ZFS. This will either make my life very easy or very hard.

OpenACC is for GPU programming what OpenMP is to parallel programming. It is intended for general purpose graphics programming, i.e. numerical computations on your GPU, not for replacing anything like OpenGL.

I doubt that there are analog-digital, digital-analog converters and an FFT module in there. I would have assumed that there's only some analog circuit. You don't even need spectral analysis. It just needs to invert the amplitude

As far as I know, sound is actually so slow that you don't need to average the noise and make an educated guess as to what to filter. Acoustic noise filtering in headphones should work by detecting the outside noise with a microphone a

Yes, because you buy a toaster to toast. And you buy a PC to code. I still haven't figured out why I would need a tablet. I understand why others might, but for me personally, I have no idea for what I would use it. If you are similar

It's technically a computer. And the "Super" is not even in the same sentence as the word "Computer." I don't think this is misleading. Furthermore, super just means better than average. The average computer by

There are PDFs and ridiculously large TIFFs available for you to download and print [1]. Click on one of the images to see the respective download link. Just bring the PDF to a professional print shop and pick a size. At least that's w

I chuckled when I read that. Apart from the uninformed way this was expressed, the author's actual interpretation of this statement comes after that: "In academia, in order to publish a paper, often you just have to get it to work

The title kind of misled me. It's about how scientists with a degree in _biotechnology_ (or a related field) can move from academia to the startup world, not about scientists in general. For many academic fields there's no equival

There are just too many assumptions in this article. It says: Use the repeated addition strategy to solve 5x3. That is clearly what the student did. The argument about bundles and bananas is besides the point. But even then it works because

If Facebook had EU servers, then they would need access to the data on those servers from the USA. Technically the NSA can still force everything out of Facebook in the USA, I guess. But this will again be incompatible with EU law. Accordin

Weird. I also learned that -fold is not the same as times. For example, cosmic inflation was 60-fold, not times. But when I look it up, it says -fold is equivalent to just a multiple.

Thanks a lot. I know that steam has some 32Bit dependencies even on a 64Bit OS. I thought it might have only been the steam client's dependency. Unless you're using a 32Bit OS, it seems that Steam, or maybe even Unity3D, enforces
