I see this almost every day. I have always assumed that Hacker News is too cool to fix/support navigation after the frontpage (or any other page) has changed.

This is not the case. Websites, including hacker news, does not handle sessions like that.

AIS is not used for navigation, or any critical decisions. It's not like it will override what the bridge sees, or what the radar picks up. ADS-B is a similar system for aircrafts, and have the same shortcomings.

I saw the video a few months ago, and it didnt make any sense to me. I didnt imagen Feynman as a guy that would go up to a stranger just to show off his math skills. The linked story makes much more sense!
