But there’s nothing that stops countries from being within 5% of each other at top of that ranking. The main point is the large difference between the countries.

Wow, just incredible. I too turned off my adblocker just to see this. Is this really how the vast majority of people browse the internet without an adblocker?! How do they take it? It's like letting someone slap your face, repeatedly

It's possible you're talking about different things. When robbery was mentioned asenna, I was imagining an empty house being robbed.

Perhaps only remote hacking where you are not physically in the same location as what you are hacking (or have not caused any physical alterations). This kind of "hacking" should be entirely stoppable and entirely non-violent. S

One of the nice things about projectors is they are not smart (for the most part, as far as I know). How long will that last I wonder? I am especially sceptical of internet-connected smart devices, I wonder how long until products start hav

For all the negative comments about the presentation, which I might normally agree with, I liked this format this time. It took a while to load (thank you multi-threading). I got through it because I treated it like an interactive video wit

That’s not very convenient. I like another suggestion in this thread: standardised components. Have shops hand out reusable metal cutlery rather than disposable plastic cutlery with a deposit scheme. You pay a few quid for the cutlery, but

I've been having the same thoughts recently, to the extent where I've wanted to post "Ask HN: How do you search for independent bloggers and forum discussions?". I may as well throw that out here now, how do I find indiv

I was curious about TLS1.3’s attempt to encrypt SNI, and found that it is genuinely a hard problem. The best solution seemed to be to use a proxy/fronting service, but that isn’t the ideal solution.

It would be a one-time auto-format just like the one-time auto-format that black will do for the rest of the project. Any newly auto-generated files can be formatted before they are committed. So I don't see it actually adding to the h

This is a great way of thinking about a VPN, and how I describe it myself. If you have limited options on your choice of ISP, then a VPN allows you to expand your choices (excluding speed, latency, usage caps).

If thats true it’s because of the limitations of IPv4 more than anything else. With a single $5/month machine from Linode you have a /64 IPv6 subnet, that is 2^64 IP addresses just for that one machine.
