My understanding is that it's not clear at all with respect to variants, hence this study. The spike protein has been picked for the reason that it's unlikely to change.

The reason you are getting downvoted is the phenomenon discussed here is independent of whether the dam creates energy or not. It has no bearing on whether you are pro or against hydro-electric power generation.

You are mixing accountability and responsibility here - to give a less politically charged analogue: was Steve Ballmer responsible for the spread of the ILOVEYOU virus? No, but he held ultimate accountability for VBA being enabled by defaul

If the math were that easy, we wouldn't be discussing it. The first SARS outbreak happened in Guangzhou which has a BSL-3 lab, yet all evidence points to zoonotic transfer.

Re 2. The wet market was likely the first superspreader event but the patient zero (from what we know today) had no connection to it.

How is he "the leading figure"? Fauci is hardly relevant outside the US. As you mentioned we are discussing a global phenomenon and it's useful to distinguish between global and US specific matters.

Don't forget Covid/SARS-Cov-2 is only 6 months older than the vaccines: Nov-2019 vs Apr-2020. Every bit of data that we have today about the safety profile of the vaccines vs Covid indicates that for the majority of people vaccine

You definitely can. If you catch me poisoning your water and the water has been poisoned I will most certainly be charged with attempt to commit manslaughter. I wouldn't even need to actually have poisoned the water.

I don't understand the connection to abortion at all - just because they somehow both concern 'future humans' doesn't mean there is a logical connection here, in the sense that A leads to B or B leads to A. Could you exp

Not parent, but there has been a popular alternative facts campaign that aims to discredit PCR tests, partially on misunderstanding how PCR tests work (e.g. ct values, false positives etc.) and partially on technicalities that PCR tests sho

No, "we" haven't "known", and I'm not sure oversimplification is a good answer to fear mongering. Yes, expert consensus has been positive from almost day one, based on SARS-Cov-1 and other coronaviruses. Still,

I think parent's advice is solid. Covid sits at this sweet spot where it's not that bad for young folks, but it's easily transmissible and mortality increases exponentially with age. Which means certain demographics will be h

As a European I do not understand what vaccination has to do with political leaning. It's even stranger that in the US pro-life (abortion) seems to correlate with pro-choice (vaccines)? I do understand however that society as a whole s

You can't get the vaccine without anamnesis/checking your medical history, and one item is prior infection.

Not really. If you are talking about pre-existing immunity from prior infection, the benefit may be less, and in fact it is recommended not to vaccinate within 6 months of infection. If you are talking about innate immunity or cross-immunit

Why do you think that? If there is one thing that we do know it is that depression, say, is multifactorial and complex. In very few cases are the reasons only biological (but they do exist). See e.g. https://en.m.wikipedia.org&#x
