I've been looking into libraries that do exactly this in the last couple weeks, thank you for sharing this one. The competitors in this space (that I have found) are wcDocker[1] and DockSpawn[2]. One "feature" lacking from Go

Overall I would say devs aren't keen on either OpenGL or DirectX 11, but between the two DX11 seems to be more well regarded. DirectX 12 looks like a good step forward, but many eyes are following Mantle[1] and Metal[2] to see if they

Your staff page[1] doesn't show anybody in business / marketing roles. How do you handle website production, forums, marketing, legal, etc without dedicated staff? Even with a small group making a game engine[2] we're finding

Reading this article I'm not convinced this is the fault of the Rift. Motion parallax happens naturally when a game engine uses two cameras to render a scene (the 3D effect). Shape-from-shading is dependent on the lighting system the e

What a good look into the process of game design. Tons of communication with team members, lots of pictures and scribbles to explain ideas, and the ever-growing list of tasks that take a prototype to a shipped game. It's amazing to thi

Is it possible to use a Leap Motion? I don't think it has a video camera in it, but could it still be used to do 3D scanning?

The PS4 uses a couple APIs for game graphics, GNM and GNMX[1]. I've heard that their shader language is similar to GLSL (corrected by lunixbochs). The menus are built in WebGL running inside a stripped-down Webkit browser. Developers a

I struggled with finding a way to compile SASS last summer and my solution wasn't great[1]. Nowadays, this version of libsass for Python[2] looks pretty stable, and failing that Grunt would work well enough. [1] http://blog.
