In most states in Australia McDonalds stores give a 50% discount to police. It's at the discretion of each store though it seems to be the standard, at least from every situation I've seen.

It seems a very anecdotal topic. My uni uses it extensively, every society has a fb page that handles events, member feedback and general QA. It's been very successful imo.

Just a side question, the author mentions method count as a downside of introducing alternate JVM languages. Does the method could slowdown/bloat apps somehow?

Well, If you're going on the definition of download as mentioned above you could write a javascript program to do it and run it on the webpages while they're still in browser.
