They're working on getting precise GC in, he's been working on it quietly with a mentor and another two GC specialists in the D community for a while :) https://github.com/dlang/druntime/pull/1603

It's not a class, it's a struct (as a value type), it's fine if you disagree with the idea of OOP, but don't come in with an incorrect assumption of how the language is actually used in the wild. But sure, I would agree

Currently using it to write a small OpenGL wrapper which intends to remove the explicit binding (and remove redundant binds under the hood), as well as make data definitions declarative, this is part of my plan to make a XNA-like gamedev li

I think that was one of the purposes of Rackets typesystem, to fit idiomatic Racket code well enough that you wouldn't have to rewrite most of it to introduce static typing to a Racket program.

I wish we had more actually decent statically typed interpreted languages (ones that are easily embeddable, to be precise), this looks very interesting. And no, AngelScript REALLY does not count as anything interesting. (unless you really r

Best tool is a stretch, it's a tool. If we can get tools like Rust which have better memory safety guarantees while offering much of the same performance, then hell, why not? It's easy to see why just by looking at the hundreds of

I think it has become a lot better today with Elixir coming into the picture, as the two can communicate pretty much seamlessly and Elixir has been gaining a lot of steam lately, it's improving. Not to mention that one of the big focus

Titles like "Scientists can't decide" always grate on me. Almost as bad as "Science has found out x!".

You can't seriously be saying that people potentially running into malware because they couldn't figure out with download button was the real one is reasonable?

It's not though, in C++ a functor is generally something which defines the operator which lets you treat it as a callable. (a thing which acts like a function) Though the suppose the dissonance in naming point still applies.

Of course, but does it really matter? Are we all driven by a desire to be remembered and having left our mark on a cosmic scale? I'd say do your best to leave the place better than you came into it, and don't sweat too much :)

Sure, you'll have to exclude things by necessity, but what I was getting at was rather the not doing things because one believes it is actually impossible, while still actually wanting to do that thing for some reason (desire).
