It was federally illegal until 2013 if it's wasn't able to be detected by a metal detector: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Undetectable_Firearms_Act Some folks have tried to reintroduce it again. It's one

AFAIK 3d printed guns aren't illegal as long as they're able to be detected by a metal detector, unless a state has passed a law that imposes an additional restriction.

I would need to see it fire for myself before believing that the recoil didn't have an massive effect on the stability of the drone. It also looks like it isn't gimbaled so quick follow up shots will most likely be impossible. One

Related is that Alexa seems to like to add any HP printers nearby with WiFi direct still on, and relentlessly remind you when the neighbor's printer ink is low. I have ~20 random printers in my Alexa account that I don't own and k

Are they using like a RAM disk then or are they mapping a network drive for storage while they're running? I've always been curious about setting up netbooting but beyond a failed experiment a long long time ago I haven't rea

I am aware of the write endurance problems of sd cards, but I've had numerous cards that are cooked fresh out of the box, even from 'good' manufactures like Samsung. I don't like having to do binning for the manufacturer

Did you read my comment? :) I did read that they were going to support M.2., and I have gotten around my issues with SD cards in the past using SSD-grade USB drives and NVMe adapters. My comment was about how crap SD cards are, and how this

TBH the thing I hate most about this category of SBC is the reliance on SD cards. They are both too unreliable to trust and so slow that they often bottleneck the SBC. Buying them is often a crap shoot too, I've purchased cards batches

^ yep. SSNs are also terrible to collect, as they are hard to verify if the user even gave you a valid number, as there's no self checking system like credit cards, you have to check against some 3rd party database that may know who th

Man, I know why it's a thorny topic but sometimes I really wish we had a single identity system in the states, just one card that had all your licenses on it, driving/boating/hunting/ccw, and one API to pull all that inf

How is the water 'consumed'? I see that in the article that they say that they only draw water in on hot days, but what happens to it after? Surely they can't hold onto all of it. Is it just discharged, but a bit warmer? Woul

I think it's mostly a numbers thing. Willing to bet that most people take owning a gun seriously, but there's a loooooooooot of guns in the US. There's enough in US circulation alone to give a gun to every citizen of the US,

I think it's automatic highbeams mostly. They either make the driver lazy or unaware of who they're blinding. Sorta like how it's a bit jarring to go back to a car with completely manual lighting after driving one that automa

This has been a constant bit of friction between my wife and I. To me, the norms are: - Unscheduled calls are if it's an emergency or something that you need an answer to right now - Calling twice in a row is an emergency - SMS if it&#

It's the norm for hybrids and electrics. My 2014 volt doesn't have a spot for a spare, just some expired fix-a-flat and a 12v air compressor.
