Your question would have been answered if you had read the paragraph. That statement is based on my latest information, which is a few months dated, that they couldn't. Things could have changed but it's unlikely.

So I know internal figures from facebook regarding whatsapp. A large majority of our users are never actually charged a subscription fee. The app is facing stiff competition in some markets against apps that don't have any subscription

I have no idea what type of video editing you are doing but editing 2.7k60 video on my high end gpu accelerated desktop is a pain in the ass. The adoption of mobile phones as computing platform is a very different event. It allows use of co

Or may be we are approaching a wall that is harder to climb than usual. With unlimited computing power we could render real time highly interactive super accurate simulations which takes months to render. But we can't because we don&#x

This is absolutely not true. More computing power opens doors to software solution that wasn't even possibly before even to this day. It may be GPU accelerated now but even at this point we are op/s and W/hr limited.

You know what a good solution to that? Constant cost for @mentions. Each one costs you two characters. While you are at it, urls cost you 5. Images cost you 10. Removes the benefit of shorter twitter handles, longer twitter handles doesn&#

Personally I really think that encryption is a matter of second amendment and in the day of knowledge and communication the right to bear encryption should fall under the second amendment. Hell, the US even classifies encryption as a muniti

$200,000 isn't even 5% in SF. The fact is that there are a lot of rich people and I am sure this service provides an amazing utility for them. No need to be jealous. I am sure they don't need to advertise on HN, it's more of

If that is so, then we have already lost. No firearm held by the citizens can compete with the firepower of the military of today. The spirit of the amendment may have been in the right place and surely worked when the constitution was writ

Well, you are right. Most arguments are I support A, and the opposition is I oppose A. Somehow GG is different, it's I support A, and the other side is fuck your A, I support B ,when they don't actually have any problem with A. Th

How the hell is gamergate about the "right" to threaten? No one who isn't a troll will argue that anyone has that right. What do games have to do with the right to threaten?

No one has the "right" to threaten someone's safety. That right simply doesn't exist. No form of free speech rules grant such "right".

For all the hate in GG, it's a anonymous/pseudo anonymous mob on the internet. It seems hate is the default language of the louder minority. Somehow, not surprising really, the loudest people are also the worst. On the pro-GG side

I am not claiming that owncloud is shoddy, I am just refuting the claim that somehow hosting your own server makes you a smaller target and somehow safer. Every code base eventually has security problems, sometime a big as heartbleed. If yo

No. 2 is not right. For fingerprintable service with known exploits, dragnet type attacks are very common. If the GP is right about OwnCloud having a poorly written code base then you have a very high chance of getting hacked unless you can
