This question is asked in incredibly bad faith. No one anywhere has suggested storing waste (nuclear, coal ash, solar manufacturing, or any other kind of waste) in anyone's home. Or even their neighborhood.

Reactor's aren't boolean. If a reactor has no heat sink and attempts to shut down, there's still going to be a catastrophic amount of heat to disperse. That said, rapidly losing the UHS should be incredibly rare/difficul

Most health insurance comes with a % copayment. Paying 10-20% of the bill is not uncommon, and generally considered pretty good health insurance. Add to that a high deductible -- some families have to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket

In another thread, I was told that $19k was enough for an American, and that someone making $60k was just interested in making money. That if the median income wasn't enough, then we "have bigger problems as a country". And y

If you review the history of police in America, this is definitely incorrect. Police evolved out of night watches, slave patrols, and a variety of other loose organizations meant to guard capital. In the mid 1800s, the first patrolling poli

Thanks. I'm not familiar. I know that Twitch, for instance, has a separate concepts for subscriber (pays money) and follower (wants updates on the person).

66k doesn't typically include all the costs of operating a business, safety from people with parasocial relationships, etc. which this person has to carry. But yes, I'd also argue that it is a much broader problem in the US.

Your numbers seem reasonable, but that 66k has to support N people, covering rent, food, childcare or tuition, all the equipment and clothing costs for the business, etc. Is it enough to save for retirement? To deal with a medical emergency

There's presumably quite a bit of work. Just like twitch or YouTube, to be successful is a huge amount of labor beyond what happens on the set.

8k a month, but that is pre-tax, pre-healthcare, etc. Supporting a family and paying for health insurance for them is going to knock that number down real fast. Depending on where this person lives, yes that absolutely could be scraping by.

My hypotheses: Some people want to pay creators, support specific individuals, or feel like they have a connection to someone in particular. If this is what someone's discretionary budget is allocated to, more power to them.

Queer was used to denote (pejoratively) a gay person starting in the late 19th century, and increasingly was used that way into the fifties and sixties. The term was later reclaimed by the queer community in the 80s, 90s, and aughts. The te
