>One is more polished on better hardware for people who have the money and want the best. Is this at all true? If you spent an identical sum of money on a PC would you not get better hardware?

I hadn't even considered a cross text-editor solution/protocol. That's a fantastic idea.

I can't help but be reminded of http://xkcd.com/927/ every time I see a new collaborative editor. Whether it's Cloud9, Google Collide, Collabedit or Space, one must sacrifice all the benefits of their current IDE in order to use this one.

I'd be extremely worried about the knife he was waving around his head. You might prove your point if he has to stab you in the neck to kill you, but you're obviously at a net loss at that point.

Code should be self-documeting. You're proposing we remove something that serves to differentiate between properties in favor of simply adding the exact same information in the form of a comment.

Wait so you want them all to use the same prefix? So you'd have five properties called "filter:" or "background-image:"? If my gradient looked bad in Mozilla, how on earth would the I know which property to change? They'd seem identical unl

Because of the prefixes, yes the browser knows which properties to skip. But you were advocating removing prefixes, so I'm wondering how browser are supposed to differentiate between properties?

How could one differentiate between different implementations in browsers? Prefixes help. My favorite example is CSS gradients with transparency. Mozilla: background-image: -moz-linear-gradient( rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.7) 0%, rgba(255, 255

I believe it's because PHP supports case insensitive class names. It sounds like this will not change: https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=26575&edit=1

If we're speaking strictly in regards to UI, then this is not a problem unique to Windows. I mean, would you not agree that Ubuntu's implementation of Unity changed the GUI a considerable amount compared to previous versions?

For what it's worth, that's approximately half of what some interns make at Apple. My understanding is that one receives 1.5 times their typical salary after eight hours and twice their typical pay after 12 hours. Some students are willing

The video can be found here: http://vimeo.com/43431035 I really dislike the voice-over they have, but that might be personal preference. It just sounds like a regular person imitating a professional voice actor to me.

Judging from the front page, you've converted a few people haha. I was sad to see my Show HN project fall off the new page after just four votes a few months ago, so I'm sure a lot of people appreciate this.

Out of curiosity, is Twitter data such as this freely available to anyone, or was this specially acquired for this set of students? I can imagine a number of interesting projects that might arise out of such a data set.
