Is it just me or has there been a wave of delusional people on Hacker News completely neglecting new advancements in technology? The two most common technologies I see having this type of discourse are AI coding and containers. Either every

This is awesome. Does anyone know if it'll possible to integrate it with tools like SQLX (Rust's pseudo-ORM) to get type hinting when writing in-like SQL code within Rust, or just have it work when I'm writing SQL within a si

It's pretty clear he wasn't defending the accusations and simply stating the other comment was clearly a strawman.

Does that include R&D? If running ChatGPT costs $1B/y and they make $3B/y on it, tacking on the cost of R&D on top doesn't seem very fair.

HN has two moderators but the YC Job Opening ads are not just part of HN, they're part of YC as a whole. I expect YC to do due diligence if one of their companies receives several reports that they heard no replies (it's not that

Don't you think part of the reason companies prefer that you reach out to them is that they want people specifically interested in them? Though it could be the case that the job spam is so fucked that that no longer works as an accurat

I believe HN is a high quality forum that enforces high quality standards, there is no reason this shouldn't be a thing. Companies that advertise here should be held accountable.

Now that I think about it, I don't think I had laughed at an LLM text yet. Non-ironically pretty cool!

Aren't videogames where you consume drugs for gameplay boosts banned there? I always found that weird for a first world country.

Can you elaborate on other things you think Kubernetes gets wrong? Asking out of curiosity because I haven't delved deep into it.

Having recently built 90% of a compiler by mistake, I felt like this post was written specifically about me. Hilarious writing, congrats to the author.

Hey, sorry I didn't see this comment earlier. I think there are a few historical reasons: - We are only 50 years out of a dictatorship - We were late to industrialism - Our main business sectors are bad (tourism, agriculture, textiles)

In Portugal the same two parties have been consistentently fucking up the economy for the past 30 years with no end in sight. It's comically bad. They then announce pensions for majority groups like the elderly and get voted into power

This is more of a vent, but I can't focus on the implementation because it has never improved in my lifetime, so I'd rather the government get out of my way.

The issue isn't with the systems not being able to survive those steps, it's how long they take - it's killing inovation and it's one of the reasons Europe stays behind. You can't expect us to have an AI startup boo

He's in the wrong morally or in terms of following the law? When the supreme court is the victim, the prosecutor, the law maker, and the law aprover all at once, the only thing you need to do to break the law is not do as they say.

FYI SpaceX and Starlink were not involved in this feud at all until the judge froze Starlink's bank account just for the connection to Elon. In reality the one that decided to involve SpaceX was the judge.
