The critical mass problem is the most difficult social problem to solve. Just have to make something people want to use and if they want to use it, they'll share it. That's the idea anyway.

Social media hasn't changed in over a decade but the way we live our lives, especially digitally, has. We've grown up but our social media hasn't. Slyde isn't meant to be an idealogical anti-facebook. Slyde is meant to h

Absolutely. I took the question as to why a percentage is charged for card transactions at all. The additional 0.5% is most definitely a "because they can" type of pricing and that's more an economics theory discussion. The m

Much of the interchange rate is charged directly by Visa / Mastercard. The merchant bank will then add basis points to that, and often you get another mark-up by the individual ISO (independent sales organization) in a typical set up.

Don't really like the misleading projects Twilio releases as "open source". They are basically releasing demo code of how to use their commercial, paid for backend service and while that demo code is open-source, I don't

This actually isn't true. I build telecommunications software and although individual carriers may offer a binary true or false response to a DNC request, the actual DNC list is a csv of all the numbers in a given region / area co

I think what they are failing to address here, and what is incredibly misleading of them in this message, is that they fail to define what "public information" or "public activity" means to them. They define this in thei

I've used c9.io for years. You're trading some nice IDE features you'll get with VSCode or others for convenience, but not as many as you'd think. Although the interface is rather out-dated, it's a solid IDE and I t

How often do we list static data in lists anymore? Honest question. It feels like most websites you view anymore are displaying data fed from somewhere that isn't known when you write the markup. As you write markup some is meant to re

This is continuing to shape up to be another one of those preference debates. I prefer the Angular approach, as its end goal is to simply make web markup what it should be: Interactive. The downside being that you're forced into Angula
