Vite is built on esbuild and Rollup, but there’s nothing tying it to either. In theory with the evolving ecosystem, it can swap whatever it wants to use internally and still provide a consistent experience.

Arguably a lot of people might interact with servers that use their chips (and cpus and nvidia gpus), plus there’s game consoles which are fairly popular.

Agreed, although the sad thing is that eBay/FB have a large audience.. so if I fail to sell something elsewhere I'll usually have to switch to one of those two :(

I can definitely confirm this, I tried to air cool my 5950X without much luck. Enabling PBO I've seen it go over 200W, which a 240mm rad handles very well.

I ran into that one for a while, and I read that newer DP cables’ standard has better shielding to prevent it. I got a newer cable and the issue went away, ymmv

They’re monetized by selling ads in exchange for BAT, plus they probably hold plenty of BAT which they can sell over time as they continue to increase its value.

There was a recent 0 day in iMessage relating to image parsing, in a open library that Apple used. I’m not sure why the poster is being so vague, but the blog post is an interesting read. The second comment just seems like a dig at apple in

POWER9 is a family of processors. This is an announcement that Firefox's coding engine (for JavaScript) can run this code fast on those processors. It's somewhat interesting because OPENPOWER is a competitive alternative to Intel&

I'm sure he'll see this soon, so congrats Rich! Svelte has been a cool project since the beginning, and I'm excited to see Rich have more time to work on this. As an early contributor I've seen Svelte go through a lot of

While it would be nice to be able to ensure that the source is what's exactly on the app store, protonmail does have their iOS app open sourced. Not quite the same as a generic email client, but is probably the next closest thing.

While bloom filters are nice for understanding, as far as I know they've been surpassed by Cuckoo filters, and now (maybe?) Vacuum Filters. I built a torrent-like streaming application for video a few years ago on WebRTC and bloom filt

I use ProtonMail + Thunderbird, it does require a client to handle the decryption/encryption to the servers. It was open sourced a while ago which is nice, although admittedly it'd be nice to have it just work.

Honestly, go to an office supply store and try a few chairs. See what’s comfy, but also forces you into a good posture. There’s not really a one size fits all office chair, and $200 goes pretty far if you’re not buying a high end chair (whi

I got one nearly brand new for $25 off Craigslist, which I think is a steal for the price. At $200 though, there’s some other competitors that I feel would be better.

Relatively, they're correct. Compared to other app stores like Apple where the fee is $100/year, which personally I'd consider huge. To get on Steam, the fee is a one-time $100 with the ability to get it back after $1000 in s

This article seems to imply that people purchasing more things, and especially willing to pay more than they're worth is causing inflation. If that follows, what would be the reasons for that? Being at home, stimulus checks, or somethi

To start off, putting an async function there just means the promise will be executed somewhere, not that the UI thread will stop. Svelte does not wait for promises in events on elements. As well in a full application, Svelte actually has a
