I happened to have made hundreds of Filipino friends online beforehand, the Philippines speaks English, there's a large % of Catholics, and I find Asians attractive in general. I don't live near a big city and I was looking for so

Not going to go into personal issues on an open forum :) but you're pretty quick with your assumptions. The gf isn't poor and only trying to escape and we don't have a large gape.

Once upon a time, I was seeking a Filipina gf. At the time, DateInAsia didn't have any good search interface but it was a good place to meet people if you weeded out the scammers. I was looking for very specific things (Catholic, educa

Or use Crashplan for $5 a month (paying yearly) and store a TB anyways ;)

Happy OneNote user but I truly despise the API. All the other Office APIs are far more pleasant and functional.

Salamat for the downvotes. You could comment on your reasoning ;)

On top of that, I suspect some of the anti-US stuff posted is for the express purpose of gaining customers away from the US. (this may get downvoted, people may disagree, but I have no doubt it's happening)

Spying is an age-old game and it's not just the US doing it ;) I'd love to see some leaks out of Russia and China. It doesn't matter where your data is stored if it's off-premises. If you were putting it in the cloud une

I actually read the whole thing :) loved every minute. Long long ago I enjoyed an occasional Valleywag article, can't say I've visited the site now for a few years.

I'd love to see this, even if they'd keep the content private for x number of years. Copyright runs out eventually and it would still be archived then.

(Not ideal/feasible for every employee, but if you do have important access/credentials... at least they aren't getting those by owning your browser in a throwaway VM)

Isolate activities in virtual machines. Ideally use something like Qubes OS. At the very least, fire up Virtualbox. My password safe runs in my Virtualbox host OS. Nothing else unnecessary runs there. I do my browsing and daily work in vari

I think they may have been a little gun shy in some of their later actions due to fear of monopoly claims after they had been smacked down.-

I don't use Smugmug but what possible advantage does this have over Smugmug? Even their top tier plan with lots of features is only $300 a year. All their plans have unlimited storage. $300 a year would only cover 625GB at $0.04/G

Anyone who was using Windows for TOR browsing was already asking for trouble. Anyone browsing outside a "sealed" VM setup such as Whonix was also asking for trouble.

Currently using Crashplan to backup my photos. I copied 200+ DVDs of photos to my hard drive in numbered directories... then deleted them after I had them uploaded (Crashplan keeps deleted files if you choose that option).

The Philippines has good and bad. Don't go rushing in with rose-colored glasses. Before rushing to move there, make yourself informed. (Been there a number of times)

Declining to answer is a sure giveaway of the answer in an open hearing ;) I suspect there's a number of situations where lying to Congress is not a crime. The "Gang of 8" and the "Gang of 4" are almost always aware

This is exactly it. Wyden purposely put him in an impossible situation so he could hang him with it later. If Clapper has done his job well in other respects then this incident is irrelevant.

Are you kidding? This was an open hearing. He was obligated to lie about issues of national security. Wyden set him up with that question so he could dump this on him later. Wyden already knew the answer since he was on the Senate Intellige

Don't want to face "mafia" tactics? Don't pirate software. I admit I've used a few cracked programs for fun and personal use in the past.... but ANYTHING for business/profit use, I buy proper licenses.

Their pricing for the hard drive is reasonable but their storage pricing is higher than what I pay with Crashplan ;) I haven't taken advantage of Crashplan's initial drive seeding because my upload speed is fast enough.

If you're paranoid, use QubesOS and run Retroshare and other things in isolated VMs. I loved Retroshare except for the part of never being able to delete stuff you posted.

I would love to see something like this that allows you to serve a website on localhost to specific people. The browser control could be embedded so you could control how resources are loaded (through torrent instead of normal URL).

Have you considered Crashplan? I've had positive experiences with it. The only downsides are that the client program uses a ton of RAM and there's no API.
