You could just keep life and money separate, it's technically possible for the ratios to be different.

If this were stated for many countries it would be cause for concern, and it certainly draws parallels to the US - but Argentina's economy has been a disaster forever, and regularly suffers from huge hyperinflation and government defau

Argentina's government has been a disaster for a century. It's not at all surprising to me that reining in government spending in an economy that has had 4? Defaults over the past few decades will result in an improvement.

Ever heard of chesterton's fence? If you don't understand what the code is doing, removing it sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I would be much more impressed to see a person with a controller (and just directional controls) telling the bipedal robot where to go in a normal human environment - for example, just crossing the street. These seem very curated, on perfec

Fortunately resistive heating is just about the cheapest possible heating in capital costs and trivial to retrofit as a backup.

It's entirely possible the wires would get hot enough to get useful heat, but I think the much more practical challenge is moving the air and insulating it from the outside. Beyond that, you're likely also decreasing the maximal e

The main problem seems to be setting the backup payment below the rate necessary to sustain life. I have to disagree that you won't become dependent on assistance given too freely. Obviously these crises leaned way, way too far in the

Are you driving like a grandma slow acceleration or are you driving at low speed? The latter is much, much more important at highway speeds. Apparently the EPA test is run at 60mph Max and an average of 50mph, which would to a significant e

Are you sure about that? If you go only uphill in a gas car you will use a lot more fuel per km, just like an EV.

There's a difference between deflation due to productivity growth and deflation due to lack of money. Deflation is good if it's the result of us producing more of a thing better and thus driving the price down. Broad-based deflati

But very much nonobvious. I recently had to help one of my parents when they couldn't figure out how to install some software, and it turned out to be S - but I had to do a bunch of digging to figure it out and I'm good with compu

There's another circumstance where people were calling out threats and mostly no one cared - the recent presidential election. it's difficult to argue nothing will change when on occasion it does.

Shouldn't there be an auction system or something? Surely it's fraught to allow arbitrary employees to determine valuations. An auction might not always get the best price, but it should prevent outright scams like this. I guess m

Sure, you can prefer chrome - but if you had to switch it wouldn't be a huge imposition (Certainly less for 99% of people than it seems to be for you) It's not comparable to switching from Windows to Linux.

Not sure about plenty; I've been using Firefox for years now and not encountered any real issues like that. Each to their own, I just disagree that Firefox isn't a real alternative in the same way Linux is to windows.

Making an inelastic resource (gold) the unit of exchange in a growing economy is a recipe for deflation. You don't want the most economically sensible decision to be holding onto capital, since that results in precisely nothing useful

It depends. There's more rhetoric nowadays around things like rent controls and profit caps, both of which I view as very destructive to the mechanisms of market allocation. I think it's a divisive issue though since there's
