Unclear to me is how the interface works. In the demo video, how do you select an item? By eyesight? How do you click? The design is more stylish than I expected.

The Netherlands only has one language, Dutch. Belgium has two: the top part speaks Dutch, the bottom part French. And they don't really seem to like each other. And, yes, official things are in both languages.

You don't have to reboot your phone (e.g. the iPhone doesn't need a reboot when switching SIM cards). But a lot of phones hide the SIM under the battery, and your phone won't keep running with its battery off.

I'm afraid if we kill SIM cards, the opposite will happen: your phone will be locked to one network, and switching networks means switching hardware (beyond just the sim). I really like that while traveling I can just buy a local sim, put i

Since they compare it with redis, I wonder if this can handle data bigger than memory. The other properties seem nice :)

Do you have some more insight into this? We currently run a hybrid Riak-MySQL setup, and are actively looking at Mongo to replace parts of it. In a few tests mongo 's speed seems to be all over the place: From REALLY fast to quite slow. And

Anybody else disappointed that an article "How to do cheap backups" didn't at ALL describe how they, well, actually do the backups? I was expecting some smart copy algorithm, not a post about the price of hardware. Also, they compare their

How long does building 1 ROM take on decent hardware? Are we talking minutes, or closer to hours?

I both wouldn't bet on Joyent's Smartmachines being a magnitude cheaper and being as fast: On the speed: We run a Riak cluster, and for us the actual response times we get from Riak are, as described, slower than what Amazon promises in its

Yes, that's what I meant with 'cold'. For recently requested data, that is cached in RAM, the response can be as quick as 3 ms.

For one, it responds quicker than Riak: Riak has (cold) response times of about 300ms, while this service claims single-digit ms response times. Also setting up Riak is not exactly trivial, and using this service outsources that hassle.

IF Twilio comes even anywhere near really threatening AT&T I'm sure AT&T would 'just' buy them. They are the same AT&T that offered > 35Billion for another telco.

Side note: this article is a good example why websites should Not make a touch version. While the article looks more iPad-like in the iPad version, it also strips out the map example images, making half of it quite pointless. And off course

I think remote work can work well for a well defined problem. However, for small startups often the product is changing while it's being developed. Also the energy and team feeling are different when working remotely or in the same office.

Interesting datapoint, that the quicker loading of the page made that much a difference. Also I think the conversion ratio of 25% is really high. 1 in 4 getting your app? whow). Anyway, this pushed me to set-up a cloudfront distribution to

Same here. A lot of google+ pages have this effect. It seems safari on the ipad 1 got a LOT les stable with iOS 5. It used to never crash, and now I won't even try to visit techcrunch, as it crashes 100% of the time.

Couldn't you get similar information (except the history) from any google analytics for a page that was popular here? I would email some owners for sites now in the top 10. Or submit your own page, with this goal, promising to open the stat

A lot of places rent out physical hardware, meaning you won't have to buy it. It might take more time if you have specific needs, but some providers can deploy hardware in minutes.

I thought it was one of the clearest explanations I have ever seen on github. Many other projects would have a lot of text, no video, and if ever a video it would need flash and load slowly. While I agree the quality of the video isn't top

Good idea to expand on Bootstrap, taken how popular it is. However the only addon here seem to be the buttons. And the example link on top links to the normal bootstrap, not this new version.
