I did try when I was a junior. I learned this relies on good commit messages, and the information can be lost during squash. Honestly if I’m playing the role of bug detective I’ve become much faster using other techniques.

To work on the same code base as the rest of my team? Like everyone else. Certainly not to nitpick about how history is written, in what order or what is omitted.

I’m saying we did test parts that required mocks, and we used interfaces as a vehicle to streamline that. Rightly or wrongly.

I haven’t found meaningful use for history in years. Neither has anyone on any of the teams I’ve worked on. Nitpicking git practices really feels like a waste of time. Pick something that works and roll with it.

I remember working in a team that used interfaces for a ton of things. Every single one of those things only ever had one concrete implementation, still to this day. A lot of those things were also purely for mocking in tests too. Today I d

There’s no OS way to do this, but you can certainly kill all the nagging and find out or subscribe to updates through other means.

This is like someone suggesting murder should be illegal, and the main argument being “but some people will still do it anyway”.

I’m a parent. My kids are not getting smart phones for as long as I can reasonably demand it. I foresee this going into secondary school age.

It's like that episode of the Simpsons where Homer is trying to sleep while on the jury, using fake eye glasses.

Case in point. They show none of these things. I'm not even sure how a commit message could convey these things.

If that happened you probably haven’t refined your whitelist of commercial businesses that would qualify a high street. It’s pretty much the same stuff nationwide.. A McDonald’s, some banks, a foot locker. Etc etc.

Or do the reverse? Identify streets with a certain category of commercial business, with quantity above a certain threshold. The area/community can be derived after.

100% of people who sit down for years will suffer damage that is very difficult to reverse. Unless they are proactive in counteracting. < 100% of people who play sports will suffer damage of the same degree. People don’t talk about socce

I don’t think it’s fair to diminish sports because you personally suffered injuries or long term damage, there are only a handful of sports that carry risks of that severity, where most people will probably get hurt after some time. Sitting

In the same way that you can’t keep a wild animal as a pet, windows is not your software, you paid for it but it serves another master. Linux is great, I can even play modern games on it now.

I mean how weak are they really? These guys knew the algo and still struggled and pestered the user over and over for the other parameters. They also had what I would describe as an extreme motivation to crack this.

That issue was opened in 2022. Honestly if you really get into the nitty gritty of PC it becomes quickly apparent there’s some very strange design choices and priorities. You can produce some great stuff but there are many dev-exp headaches

I think Playcanvas would do well to focus on the basics, like being able to export/import variables in the standard js way, being able to develop offline, using your own source control. I could go on.
