Corporate? I think ultimately we’re talking about any business here. And a business doesn’t exist to facilitate engineers to go back and forth on a PR for a week, or to fantasise about abstractions all day. The entire problem is the vast ma

I love their games but the stories are normally painfully abstract and difficult to piece together.

I agree with the takeaways here. Juniors, intermediates and more seniors than should, have a complete inability to zoom out and appreciate where their software fits in to the business. Hyper focused on minutia. Eager to debate in a PR. Once

This is honestly a collection of poor takes. It’s also incredibly low stakes stuff. Don’t like the features? Don’t use it…

Rumbelows was bought by Radio Rentals, who then merged with Granada plc, who then merged with Carlton to become ITV.

This is probably better phrased as a popular emerging theory, rather than the matter of fact tone used here.

For OP he said it was three hours after the context was given. I guess it depends, this is personal to me but I'm bowing out of most processes that I deem to be meaningless/a waste of everyones time.

I didn’t write the first quote, but a comparison to an opinionated strongly typed language where types are a first class citizen, and a typing sandbox with nonsense constructs enabled by antipatterns such as unions (‘string|number’ anyone?)

This requires the same skill and experience as figuring out if k8s is going to be a good fit. Arguably if you can’t evaluate the raw cloud offerings and jump on a supposed silver bullet you need to stop immediately.

I was once talking to an ex google site reliability engineer. He said there are maybe a handful of companies in the world that _need_ k8s. I tend to agree. A lot of people practice hype driven development.

Tony Chen even addresses this directly in the video above. They literally had a hard line in the sand. $600. If it costs more than $600 to hack it then they really don't care. The other big thing is games being locked to a specific OS
