If it fails to decompress because the file is corrupt, the browser would more then likely keep the archive? But if someone replaces the archive with a malicious file that decompress normally, he will also probably change the listed checksum

I think that this article means the opposite... and that Amazon could be liable for stuff that you buy from random Chinese dudes. So it should become less risky.

So you could just use a fake passport? Yeah to tell you the truth, I'm not sure why a passport is required... Just like driver licenses and tag registrations, they have all the information on their computers.

not being able to see prices ahead of time is probably the biggest problem... but it also stinks that with or without insurance, you appear to pay about the same total cost.

Can you wear a mask while they do the passport scan? They need know how you look like so they can match the picture with the passport... using a computer or a human.

I use https://ns.reddit.com along with Firefox's Redirector add-on to make sure that I always stay on that domain... not sure how much longer it will stay around though
