I am also an interested but detached observer. Nice description. The why's surrounding what you are seeing is unknown (to you), but I'd guess that a combination of prices and growing season changes due to climate change. Who kno

My personal management style is to avoid being a hoarder. It can be a challenge, but really most of this stuff doesn't need to be kept long-term. The main threat model these days is digital, rather than physical. I favor paper record

Yeah, the higher end is “different” because card grading is a gatekeeper into the market. There are a lot more PSA 10 quality cards sitting in collections ungraded than have been graded and are “in circulation”. But now that those top card

Let's say you malloc some memory and the computer actually has everything available. Everything is great, up until some other process on your system does a fork bomb of an infinitely recursive program that allocates nothing on the heap

Processes come and go! The OS doesn't have to gamble that you won't actually need all the memory you allocate, it could just be a gamble that another memory hogging process exits before you need to use all of your memory, or tha

I find the market for lemons analogy to be unconvincing. It makes sense if employers sold employees to other employers, but it falls apart in the standard labor market. If I am currently employed and job searching, it is because my current
