This isn't the first time the German government is doing something like this. Previously, they've established laws that dictate the way in which buttons must be presented on ecommerce websites[1]. 1: http://www.youtube.

Undoubtedly, people will soon scream 'Bubble!', but I believe this is part of the inevitable shift of technology becoming the driver of the world's economy.

I knew corruption surrounding the games was bad, but I didn't know it was this bad. What happens if they're not prepared? Do they just go "Sorry, no xyz sport because the venue isn't ready"?

How early did Google start doing "warehouse scale computing"? I was always under the impression they started doing that as a byproduct of their large size.

I meant the question more in the sense of starting off with AWS and moving to their own servers like it is popular for most startups to do nowadays. Though you make a good point about gaining the skills for a robust infrastructure early on

Now it would be great if there was a certain court in Texas that votes in favour of citizens for every Patriot/FISA Act court case, just like there is one for patent trolls.

Are there really tech giants that are totally ok with our current patent system? I was under the impression that no company was happy, just some (e.g. Intellectual Ventures backers) are making due with what they can.

Ok, not as bad as I originally calculated. If that money went to lobbying though, it'd be fair to argue that they'd be closer to solving the fundamental issues there are in patent laws vs. acquiring a portfolio of patents that are
